Beaches!

We have the best beaches in the Country!  With Rossnowlagh (2 miles long), Murvagh (1 1/2 miles long, Bundoran being a premier seaside resort, Mullaghmore – superb sandy 3km beach, Rosses Point, Sligo a seafaring village with a seaside resort with two magnificent sandy beaches, Strandhill, Sligo very popular for surfers, but not safe for swimmers due to strong currents.  Not forgetting Streedagh stand – an impressive 3km long sandy beach.  Also famous for the Spanish Armada ship wreak site in 1588.

Castles!

A visit to Donegal Castle, Donegal Town home to the O’Donnell chieftains in the 15th century and later extended by Sir Basil Broke in 17th Century.

A visit around the Glenveagh estate which is home to the castle surround by ornate and renowned gardens.

Ballymote Castle – Richard de Burgo, the ‘red earl’ of Ulster built the strongest fortress of Connaught!
